I'm planting no plow for 25 yards... Micro plot in my sweet spot distance wise.

Happy 4th! I'm checking the millionaire property cam today, so hopefully I will have a couple big boys to show off later.

    Well good Morning fella's,

I apologize for going dark for so long. Honestly between work, my now 10 mo old son, my wife, and just life in general it has been a crazy spring/summer.

So to catch you up on everything. Turkey season was a bust this year. I was only able to hunt a state park here in IL and not my Indiana property due to some conflicting work travel. So I ended up eating tag soup.

I have my new Mathews Traverse all paper tuned and ready to go. Just need to get a sight tape on my HHA and I will be ready to fling some arrows.

Heading down to my In-Laws in Indiana tomorrow for a week. I will get my cameras put out (hopefully they all still work) and my feeders filled so I can start taking inventory. I will also be refreshing our mineral sites while I am there. As far as food plots go I may spray a few this week as well in prep for August planting.

I have been working to secure some more archery spots closer to home but so far it has been tough. Hopefully by the start of the season I will have at least one new place so I can hunt a little more often without having to drive 4 hours.

I hung a stand today and it's in a crazy section. I hung it on a wall of Vines and ivy. I cut only the holes I need and it's a totally covered stand in a 5acre section of super thick bedding.
I also heard a rumour that the farmer that didn't plant this year might plant winter wheat. I've reached out to him and can't wait to find out.

So I work for my neighbors and they also allow me to hunt their land, it's a fenced off apple orchard that has other crops in it as well. I was working on a blueberry fence and turned to see a nice velvet buck just outside the fence looking right at me. I said out loud to the buck " in 2 months you could be a dead man" he looked at me turned away put his tail up and stood there...........I saw more then I wanted to and now it's personal I think I have pictures of the buck but ill have to look.

I checked cards this morning on two cameras close to the house, the WGI camera was a bust the files were corrupted STC_0077.JPG and the batteries almost dead so I pulled that camera down. Then checked my stealth cam over a mock scrape with some good activity and one nice 8 who I am not sure I have seen before! Oh also Amazon has the stealth cam I like using on sale for 75 bucks so I snagged one and a 48 pack of batteries!

Put out a camera and resituated my tree stand and straps where I shot that 150 incher last year. Neighbor has planted beans again and the landowners property where I hunt has been completely undisturbed except for me going in there to get things ready. Going out tomorrow to a new property I got permission on and hopefully planting a food plot. Bad news is the landowners wife said she doesn't like chemicals so I can't spray or anything. We'll see if anything grows lol.

That’s what happens when you are a young teacher in the school you grew up in!

I know things have been slow but I think they will heat up soon with new team sign up. Over the years I've watched a lot of Hunting videos but I always find another one that I haven't seen yet. Had a friend send me a link to a video with good land management advice just the other day. With that being g said, would you guys be interested in sending a link or two to some of your favorite Hunting videos? Might help pass some time and it's always fun to watch a big one drop.
