Does anyone have an idea of what this plant is? Found a bunch of it while scouting this weekend, it's got a fruit/nut mast coming off of it. I was going to cut them all down unless deer browse on them.
Man I thought I replied to this already...looks sorta like my wild plum. Are there sharp spurs on the limbs?
After posting I Googled a search of wild fruiting bushes in your State. I assu.ed those are bushes not trees? I couldnt find clear leaf to green new fruit pics. Try a search seeing you saw them first hand. They may be a great fruit for ..say turkey.
I can't help on that one. I'd take a branch of it in to the local university extension center and see if they can ID it.
Thats intetesting, not listed in my sources but I search edible brushes. I see they can be a pickled substitute for olives and bird's love them. Which is a good thing if you hunt game birds. I would bet deer and bear would eat them as well. I see they are like persimmon in females produce and M/F need to be close. They could grow here but don't , at least in the Finger lakes area I'm from.
