Roll call!!!!!! Just got bit by the bug tonight! Less then 3 months to go! Really looking forward to this season. My old man is hitting the woods with me after a 8 year hiatus! I don’t care if I see a deer, just looking forward to spending time with him again in the woods. I didn’t do any offseason work/scouting due to school and battling Lyme. I have zero expectations for this season except good times and memories with my dad. Who is with me!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm looking forward to it as well Joe. I will look forward to your chronicling your season with your dad, even though you'll be using one of those "devil" bows! By the way, how is school going for you? Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my RCT6703W13 using Tapatalk
It's going great Jim, Thanks! Crazy busy this past spring and summer, building up my CV. I'm pretty sure I'm going the Masters degree route as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. (I hate that label) It will be the quickest way for me to get into the VA hospital as a mental health counselor. How bout you? How's the offeason treating you?
Have a great time with Dad. Mine got me started hunting about 1953. Lost him in 2002. Now I have a grandson who is really into fishing and hunting. I guess I get the baton now.
Im in the same time frame as you swamp! same opening day!! my pops has been hunting with me the last several years but doesn't take it super seriously, he's shot at deer but hasn't hit his mark. he says he'll practice but we will see!
my son will be off to college 10 hours away this year and for the next several. enjoy Joe i have to hang on for a few years and ill get My hunting buddy back. Maybe my son can hook up with the VERMONTWHITETAIL
I am not excited, will be facilitating this year not hunting. Who am I kidding I will make it out a few times even for just a couple hours.
Just the other day I was thinking "it's almost July, need to hang new stands!" and felt like I was already running late. It will be here sooner than we think and I for one am stoked! Dropping off the bow this week for tuning, getting new sights and stabilizer. To top it all off my dad drew a Elk tag in unit 12, New Mexico late October, rifle season. I found an outfitter in the same unit that had tags and guides on private so.. probably one of my last elk hunts with pops and I'm throwing what I can at it.
141 days until Opening Day. I got a late tag this year, so plenty of time to scout and get to know the area.
I put in a ton of scouting this off season. I think about hunting nearly every day but I'm trying to keep the hunting energy low right now. Fishing is the game these days. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I’ve done zero off season work. Work is really burning me out. I get what I get this year. I’ll be happy to get out a few times. I won’t expect much. Hopefully some freezer space will get filled
Man coming so quick. Im behind on preparing. Still trying to get house crap done. Opener is sept 15 in Wisconsin. Thinking i will sit out till second week of October this year.
I dropped the hunting rig off for new strings and cables today. Beans are in this year. I’ve nailed down four or five public land spots. THIS IS THE YEAR!
Im stoked, Ive got a new public land area I found last year, gonna swap out the camera soon. put a new string on the bow yesterday...gonna finish setting it up today ...oh boy getting excited. Cant wait to follow along joe!
