Really looking forward to this season. My old man is hitting the woods with me after a 8 year hiatus! I don’t care if I see a deer, just looking forward to spending time with him again in the woods. I didn’t do any offseason work/scouting due to school and battling Lyme. I have zero expectations for this season except good times and memories with my dad.

    Who is with me!!!

I'm looking forward to it as well Joe. I will look forward to your chronicling your season with your dad, even though you'll be using one of those "devil" bows! By the way, how is school going for you?

    Blessings..........Pastorjim

It's going great Jim, Thanks! Crazy busy this past spring and summer, building up my CV. I'm pretty sure I'm going the Masters degree route as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. (I hate that label) It will be the quickest way for me to get into the VA hospital as a mental health counselor.

How bout you? How's the offeason treating you?

Have a great time with Dad. Mine got me started hunting about 1953. Lost him in 2002. Now I have a grandson who is really into fishing and hunting. I guess I get the baton now.

Just the other day I was thinking "it's almost July, need to hang new stands!" and felt like I was already running late. It will be here sooner than we think and I for one am stoked! Dropping off the bow this week for tuning, getting new sights and stabilizer. To top it all off my dad drew a Elk tag in unit 12, New Mexico late October, rifle season. I found an outfitter in the same unit that had tags and guides on private so.. probably one of my last elk hunts with pops and I'm throwing what I can at it.

141 days until Opening Day. I got a late tag this year, so plenty of time to scout and get to know the area.

I put in a ton of scouting this off season. I think about hunting nearly every day but I'm trying to keep the hunting energy low right now. Fishing is the game these days.

I’ve done zero off season work. Work is really burning me out. I get what I get this year. I’ll be happy to get out a few times. I won’t expect much. Hopefully some freezer space will get filled

I dropped the hunting rig off for new strings and cables today. Beans are in this year. I’ve nailed down four or five public land spots. THIS IS THE YEAR!
