Put some more mineral out on one of the new farms and picked some stand trees. Pretty excited to see what shows up here. Never hunted this area before

I'm guilty as hell about not following up on what I see deer doing year after year.
There are REASONS they do what they do!
Gotta start capitalizing on that but old habits are hard to break.

Checked cams for the first time on one of the new farms. I may have found a good one or two

Hung a new set on a suburban property I just picked up. Awesome creek crossing where deer funnel off of a south facing slope, walk a bench, cross the creek and go out to crops. [IMG]

Also mowed a couple clover plots. Clover is doing really good this year with all the rain we’ve had.

Hey boons how manys spots do you have now, and how do you decide where and when to hunt each respectfully.

As of right now I have access to 17 different properties. Deciding which to hunt is easy...I hunt where the biggest deer live in a given year. Not every farm will have a giant every year. That’s why I will never stop looking for options. Might be a booner on a given farm one year, and it may take several years for another one to show up. Not many mature bucks have the genetics for 170+ antlers...even in Iowa.

When are you going to hold a event giving away a week hunt ( permission only, points allowing). As it was my idea I should be the first winner.

As of 2:52 his morning, I found the first giant of the year. This is a zoomed in screenshot of a video on a cell cam so quality not the best, but holy cow is he gonna be a good one. Miles ahead of any other buck on camera in terms of growth so far.

Put out about 20 more cameras yesterday, and a few hundred pounds of mineral. I literally am giddy with excitement waiting for the next card pulls

Not a buck, but this makes 4 years in a row I have gotten this doe with white legs on camera. She was in heat and brought a giant past me in 2016. Since then I have passed her many times. Just can’t bring myself to shoot her.
