I put out a hanging feeder to inventory deer, and got this big guy coming in frequently. I'd love to shoot him, but I hope he doesn't effect deer movement too much.
Our big black bear that has become almost tame has a reach of 9 feet. I know that because he can still put small scratches on the bottom of the metal plate I put on the bottom of the spreader and it is raised to exactly 9 feet
That's amazing. When they know its time to put on weight, it's no holds bar. I've seen a couple different ones in the area, but that big boar stakes his claim. Must den near by, doesn't take him long to check out food or salt licks.
That's a fact. I lost one just a couple weeks ago to one. Granted it was on my bear bait, but this is the first time in 8 years that I've lost one. I either slipped up and got some scent on it when re-baiting, or it just simply got curious about what it was. From the pics it seemed like it was the latter.
Put a wire rope through the lock hole if it has one. May help..... unless he rips it off then it’s not. Lol
That's exactly what he did, it was an old Moultrie cam that has the lock holes on the back of the camera. I had a locking cable through them and he simply sheared them right off. Camera still works...despite the tooth hole in the motion sensor...but will be an easy steal for a trespasser/thief now.
Black bears can climb. Would they be coordinated enough to climb and steal a camera? Saw a video of a bear climbing to investigate a hunter in a tree stand.
