This morning I got surgery on my left shoulder. I had a labrum that was basically hanging by a thread. Swimming and water polo didn’t do it any favors. The actual operation was no big deal. It was only 2 hours and I’m on the mend. The only bad so far is that I’m already bored as hell. No sports or bow for 4 solid months, sling for 6-8 weeks, and therapy for 4-6 months.

I’m annoyed because there goes a chunk of summer, but it is what it is. It’s better than missing part of hunting season or swim season, especially with college starting in august.

Anyway, how’s everyone doing...I’ve been infrequent lately and I miss y’all.

Hi Shane! Glad to hear surgery went well. Where you going to school in the fall? Any plans of a major yet?

Just in case, you are welcome in my newly formed X-BoW MafFiA...we accept anyone and no practice is required until the night before the opener!

But seriously, hope all goes well with PT!

Shane, I had surgery on both shoulders! Do exactly what the doctors tell you, and do exactly what the physical therapists say!! You'll heal fine, just listen to the advice and do the PT!! Best of luck, feel better.

Yeah before you know you will have a healed labia and be back to shooting 100 yards.
But truly just listen to them and don't push it. The problem with shoulder surgeries is you will think you are fine but you are not.

Good advice here, thanks fellas. And I’m going to Clemson this fall joe. I’m in the business school right now but I’m still totally undecided. Not really much closer to ur neck of the woods in SC...just smaller deer.

Don't rush those shoulders. Make sure you do exactly what your docs/therapists tell you. If you try to rush things, it will definitely end up being a problem later in life.

Well just a simple google search shows you have some options..

Take it easy and follow through on the PT, you'll be slinging them down range before you know it.

Heal up young man, hand paddles and pull boys are hard on the shoulders, how many ear infections did you get during the swimming career? That and the crunch hair from chorine.
