I really like my Mathews Triax...it is quiet, smooth, and maneuverable. I just can't seem to get used to the grip. I am (apparently) torquing it a fair bit, because at full draw I have trouble getting the bubble in the middle on my level. That being said...what options are out there? Do you think they would make a difference? If so, where would I order such a thing? Thanks for any advice!!
I have one from torqueless on my Halon 32. I like it and am considering one for my Halon X comp. I have the low wrist style and they come in a slew of colors. Ultraview makes one as well. I believe they make a modular one that you can switch from low, medium, and high wrist options. HDA makes one that’s adjustable.
First things first - are you sure your bubble is actually set to level? Most sights require some adjustment in order to get the bubble truly level. If you haven't already, put your bow in a bow vise, level it out, and check the bubble on the sight. If it's not in the middle, you'll need to adjust so that it is. After that's done, if you're still having issues it may be a case of balance more than torquing the grip. Back and side stabilizers can help offset the weight that's added by sights, quivers, etc and help your bow be closer to level when you come to full draw. In my experience, torquing manifests itself in twisting left and right more than it does canting the bow side to side, which seems like what you are experiencing.
Thanks, Justin! I hadn't really thought about checking the level itself, but maybe that should be my first step.
Grip your bow with a relaxed, closed hand. A tight, white-knuckle grip will tense your entire bow arm and severely degrade accuracy.
