A media fast is very healthy for one's brain. Mine in particular. My level of outrage is directly proportional to the amount I allow myself to be mentally tugged off by the various news outlets and their dancing bears, our elected politicians.
I just like to see the contrast between headlines periodically throughout the day. Just felt it funny as tax deadline Monday looms they felt the need to lead with that. Instead, his cabinet and GOP policy makers have instead used it to build up the military in order to protect the freedoms of which the day is meant to honor. In other words it is meant to deter invaders from seeking the same rights and priveleges that we, the American people enjoy, while denying us all of our very own fireworks display.

It is easier to convince the 2/3 of Americans who are not white males that they are victimized by the 1/3 that are white males than to win on actual policy issues. Power is gained reluctantly and used defensively. To them, government should be a shield. Progressives actively seek government power to use offensively - to make you do things. For Progressives, government is a spear. President Obama summarized it best - the Constitution is “a charter of negative liberties,” which “says what the states can’t do to you (and) what the Federal government can’t do to you, but doesn’t say what the Federal government or State government must do on your behalf.” Notice I did not say Republicans or Democrats. Plenty of Progs in both parties. More so one than the other, but still present in both.
