Hey all, I just picked up my first thumb release, a Tru-Ball Rave, after shooting a wrist release for many years. I keep hearing to shoot the release using back tension, which I am extremely uncomfortable with at this point. However I shoot great with the release by pulling through the shot and using thumb tension, similar to using a normal wrist strap. While I plan on continuing to try and figure out how to use backtension with the release simply because I want to challenge myself, is shooting a thumb release with gentle pressure and follow through necessarily a bad way to shoot this style of release? Thanks for any input.
^this. My shooting improved simply by listening to Dudleys more technical podcasts and putting them into action. Thumb bottom. Most weight on index and middle finger. Anchor, jawbone between knuckles.
I was thinking of doing the same..following this thread. Sent from my SM-G960U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
