So I get a call and chewed out about not having my pistol permit. Our Son warns me about methlabs popping up in area woodlots. Apparently some freinds stumbled across a couple south of us. I don't worry about that at the home acres ,but I told him camp is so remote yet close to a state college and a university I'd be a little leary. Weather is getting warmer so be well awear of your surroundings when venturing out on a hike.
I find soda bottles and gallons jugs with used meth remains on our country road every couple weeks. Cops come, clean up the mess and it happens again in 2 weeks. Sad thing.
Apparently they aren't out of " fashion " here as of yet. Gee excuse the lack of "space bar" in spelling Just a friendly reminder of social BS increasing out in the sticks ,as it were. My bad.
We used to find them on fire scenes on public land, we used to get safety briefings on meth labs every spring. It has been at least 10 years since I have seen of heard of a lab being found. Could be a change in the process making it.
Yeah, there's been an uptick in "portable labs" or the "shake and bake / one pot method". Less time and less effort, just as deadly.
I can not believe that there are people stupid enough to smoke something a toothless idiot makes. Who's life has improved since they started smoking it?
I say make it legal and give them all they want, it's called natural selection. One of my million dollar ideas is to find a boom/bust Texas ghost town, encircle it with razor wire, put up cameras and dump large piles of meth and firearms. Make it a 24/7 pay-per-view, both educational and entertainment...
There are a few instances of hunters stumbling across marijuana plots and getting shot. Plots are watched by armed guards. Also, booby traps can ruin your whole day if detonated. I have friends who are NFS and TWRA employees. I bet they could tell some stories. oldnotdead, a pistol against a high power rifle wouldn't be much of a contest. Like taking a knife to a gun fight.
Finding meth on the streets is fairly rare for a beat cop. Even finding the precursors is rare. And when you find it, you better put on a mask and call someone who knows what the heck they are doing when handling it. It is absolutely disgusting. Unfortunately, a lot of the brave men and women in blue who first worked hard to combat meth have been left very sick after being exposed to it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I used to work with a guy who's family built a log cabin on their land up north. It took them 3 years to build it and get it done. Some a-holes broke in and made it into a meth lab, because of the contamination the cabin had to be torn down and destroyed.
Several years ago, there was a kid who was caught cooking meth on the back porch of a local church! Officer saw the car there late at night and investigated. Bingo! Arrested the kid.
My aunt is a retired US assistant attorney, from the mid nineties until mid oughts she prosecuted a lot of of methlab cases. Occasionally she would share some details, absolutely disgusting.
