Lake Hope (little farther E of Lake Alma) has its own hunting and is also like 30 minutes or less from at least 3 game areas and has a big year-round camping area that can handle everything from 30' camper/rvs down to tents. Cabins also available. Thousands of acres to hunt w/in that 30 minute radius and lots of varying terrain. I went on the website and as of now October is outside of the reservation window- we can't make reservations until mid April. Pretty sure that's across the board on Ohio State land.

Lake alma has a campground with electricity that is within 20-30 minutes of just about all the public land you could ask for. Theres also a campground called lazy dog (not as secluded and right beside a highway). Vinton furnace has a camping area but no electric. That's where I camp because I enjoy roughing it lol they do have a bathroom but thats it. I live in vinton county. Anyone has any questions ask me. Could ask for I'll name a few....lake Rupert(wellston wildlife area), broken aro, Cooper hollow wildlife area, zaleski state forest, Richland state forest, wildcat hollow(coalton), and many more lakes all around the area.
