I love the idea of erbody having the option to jump around and was totally on board with that just to clarify. I just look forward to the trip, getting to hang out with bow hunting junkies like myself, hunting, drinking, telling lies and all that. I was on the KY Fish and Game website today and it looks like NR tags have increased quite a bit. $150 for the base license and $185 for deer tags. So that means OH is about $80 cheaper than KY. That's about how much of @virginiashadow 's beer I plan to drink. Just something to consider.
As a non-resident who has hunted Ohio the last 4 or 5 years I have seen some increases in the last few. It looks as if 2019 is going to be no exception. If I read it right the cost for non-resident license and deer tag will be somewhere around $260.00 Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But if that's true, it would be an $80 increase over last year.
If I go I'm not scouting but the day of. Then I'm picking a spot as far deep as I can. Like 2 to 3 miles and will only hunt in the afternoon. I'm looking at about 700 miles of road for SE Ohio and that's fine. 80 bucks gets me enough beer for a few days and fresh broadheads. Or 80 bucks of beer! think you misunderstand the expression- I'm saying $80 is a chunk of change large enough to take into consideration. Meaning I'd lean towards OH because it's cheaper. looks like there's a ton of options in SE Ohio. I don't know the area well enough to just say "we should go here." Just based on size of the game areas; I'd lean towards maybe Crown City Wildlife Area to the South, Vinton Furnace or Wayne NF to the center-ish. But again, that's literally just looking at the map. Anyone familiar with the area please chime in.
