I certainly hope some of these guys were kidding with their answers.

I videoed 90% of the celebrities (interviewed 2 as you saw) and all of them were serious about their answers. I have seen Levi Morgan shoot a whitetail buck and antelope on film over 80 yards and he hit them both in the vitals. He is a World Champion Archer. With that being said, I personally think too much can go wrong once you get past 35 yards. I practice out to 50 and for fun shoot out to 100. I think shooting and practicing consistently at 50 yards makes 20 yard shots easier. It does for me anyways. Here in NC, you are hard pressed to get a shot over 25 yards because the woods are so thick here.

Completely agree, I have see it all but I rather take a shot where things can go wrong as opposed to the shot where everything has to go right to complete.

Just like Curry can rain 3s all day and some guys can only shoot 10 feet and under in the NBA, so is the archer and his or her abilities. That being said, I'm on the low end. 15 yds and under sounds great!

I don’t care what those guys do but for me....I don’t like shots over 25 yards.

Is a whitetail that much harder than a muley or an elk? Only killed one at 30 yards with a rifle. Seemed like they all would shoot a muley at farther distances. Just asking.

Levi Morgan is a professional archer. He could hit a gnat at that distance. As for me, 3o yards max.

I don't have a problem with the pros taking those shots, I do have an issue with the wanna be quiver sniffers thinking they can do it too because they saw it done on TV..

as a general rule, whitetails are smaller-bodied than mulies. (And obviously much smaller than elk.) So there is a smaller target to begin with.
Plus, whitetails are a little more squirreley than mulies and depend on their ears more- whitetails tend to react harder and faster to the sound of a shot. Mulies generally have to deal with more wind noise and are not as jumpy at sounds. Or just don't hear it to begin with due to the background noise.

I group tight at 50 but the longest shot I have ever taken was 36 yards. 35 is my typical max. I mainly hunt bedding areas so it’s usually 20 or under.

I wouldn't be too disappointed, I watched him shoot a sub 1" group at a 100 yards in my front yard. Watched him kill mule deer at 10, 19, 82. Antelope at 88, 64 and 18. Whitetail doe at 64. Not a single one was hit anywhere other than the lungs. In all that hunting, no misses, no wounded animals. Everyone has to know their limits, some people.... just have larger limits.

Fair enough Dubbs but as a example to others that think they are at his level ( which almost no one is ) he and others should always quantify with a longer distance is riskier or whatever.
We have so many hunters that think because they havent missed a episode or because they buy all the equipment that pros have they can shoot like them.
