Hi, I'm Frank, not really new to archery, but to this forum.
I life across the pond, in Europe - unfortunately in a country where bowhunting is illegal. That's what the title is referring to...
Which doesn't mean I do not keep my broadheads and skills sharp.
I'm mostly doing 3D shooting, both with compound and traditional bows, so I'm probably more active in the respective threads.

I like the fact you have a rant thread, and don't shy away from political issues. Not like some tense European forums, sprinkled with taboos.

Welcome to the site New here as well. Having been on a few sites that allowed some really nasty attacks, these guys have shown great respect from what I've seen.

    welcome
here in the USA we can still publicly debate politically-sensitive issues and not have the secret police smashing in our door in the middle of the night.
    ...for now, anyway.

hope you get the opportunity to bow hunt. Looks like Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Finland, Bulgaria and Slovenia allow it.

Yes, we're free to criticize and satirize things here in the States.

Recently living in the country without kangaroos - take your guess ...
The closest neigboring country allowing bow hunting, and with flourishing bow hunting tourism, is Hungary.
We can do as well, more or less. But the self-censoring cowards that parrot the official line are everywhere. Last year I got banned from an archery forum for criticising the EU. And not retracting + apologizing.
Best go with the flock, and you get in no trouble. Until you are in the slaughterhouse ...

The public mood is a bit tense here, France is just the tip of the iceberg.

    Not much, honestly ... ;-)
Why should I take offense ? It is as it is.

BTW, there is another post of mine here, awaiting moderation. Not sure what word(s) triggered that.

Has perhaps to do with my "new member" status. Currently still "awaiting moderator approval" ...

Welcome. We give each other a hard time occasionally, but it is all in good fun. True jerks never last long around here.

Don’t worry. Our thread manager Tiggie is reviewing your posts.

He’s usually pretty quick but is in big demand and his workload reflects that.

    Have patience

Welcome! as you can see by the above comments we are a laid back group and will take the usual poke at one another but all in all any questions or stories you have bring them on! Many people on here have probably had similar experiences!

Thanks for the warm welcome, and I'm not worried. I use to know that fora as this use to be kept up and running by a small crew. And I'm thankful for that.
Only keep in mind that I'm a bit "ahead of time" (6 hours, time zone - wise), and don't write in my native language.
