I was just looking back at my old photobucket account last night. Pulled off some older hunting pics and they brought back great memories. Prior to 2007 I never took a picture with any deer I ever killed. I just thought it was in bad taste and bad luck to photograph dead animals. Not real sure why, that was just my thought process. So in 2007, after 15 years of hunting I finally killed my first 8 point buck. Decided that would be my first hunting photograph. In my opinion I even look conflicted in the pic as I am not even smiling....lol!

Post up some old hunting pics with stories!

    Great idea for a thread!

Pic #1: First archery buck and most memorable recovery; had to retrieve him with a canoe in a river after leaving overnight with a liver shot. Killed in 2015.

Pic #2: first hunt this season with my boys. I was going to post the pictures of each of their first hunts. But I no longer have that on my phone.

I got many old pics. Here are a few for now. Image1549931032.384853.jpg
My first climbing stand. An old baker. The thing was a damn death trap!!!! Image1549931096.968575.jpg
First archery deer. 13 years old 1984 Image1549931143.789532.jpg
First buck with a flintlock Image1549931187.313005.jpg
This is the group of guys I was hunting with in potter county Pa. during flintlock season when I shot that buck. We did pretty good that year!!!!3 days of just chasing deer all around the mountains. If I remember correctly I believe there were 35 shots fired that year in those 3 days. So much fun!!!
Looking at these again really brings back some cool memories!!

Here is my first deer ever! Lugged a ladder stand for almost a hour and set it up. Couple hours later had a doe and fawn come by. The doe came up to my tree and sniffing it. As she turned I shot her at less the 3 yards! The ladder stand was only 9 foot high and I never shook that bad before! I was 12 years old in that pic.[IMG]

I believe this was my 2nd buck ever and my first velvet. I think I was 17 or 18 years old. I was still shooting that old Bear Whitetail hunter II back then! Lol[IMG]

Happy that last pic is a classic pic. I never had a chance to have deer camp like that growing up. Awesome

We still go to that camp and hunt flintlock after Christmas. It’s owned by another person now and some of the guys are no longer with us but still chasing them around. Deer numbers are not what they use to be but this year we got 3 deer with 21 total shots fired in 3 days

Is that a 7 point? If so, my first bow buck was a 7 pointer as well.

    I still do. :tu:

Here's a couple pics I've posted before. This was back in 1977 when I bought my first new truck. We hunted SGL 36 in Bradford county, and we rented this cabin each year for archery and "buck season". I miss those days!
