I never thought I'd pay what I did for a set of XOP sticks and stand. If this run and gun setup is as nice as they appear, I'm sure they will sell like hot cakes.

Looking at just the stand, I don't see much difference at all from the Assault. When I bought my Assault it cost around $250, this new stand is twice the money!
The video review doesn't appear to do the stand justice- they kept talking over one another and jumping all over the place- They looked like teenagers trying to figure out how to make out with a supermodel. Just start from the top of the stand and go to the bottom; check out each component. There's a ton of innovation here. One thing that wasn't pictured- what about the seat? Just an old LW/XOP style seat I am guessing? This is obviously aimed towards the hunter who only buys one stand; or at least only one hang on. I balk at the price tag but then I consider that I already have like 5-6 hang ons of various cost/quality/weight but definitely costing a total of over $1000 new and I realize- I'd trade all of those for one of these set ups in a heartbeat.
It's the same size as the assault but one inch longer. The huge difference is the material and the machining. The platform is made from a one piece of aluminum cut on a water jet. That makes it much stronger and lighter then a cast platform. Also much more expensive to make. I believe the seat and seat post are also water jetted. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
Its totally awesome for sure, but you can buy two complete setups of their normal stands for the price of one setup of this. Hopefully if it sticks, the industry goes that direction as a whole and makes it cheaper for us little guys.
The issue is you only can hunt one set up like this at a time. So cost wise, by once and your done but you get to pack around 5 pounds less for as long as you own it. Yes there are a couple other stands on the market that come close to this, the m7 and Chippewa ghosts and quests. However they don’t have the functionality and integration of the sticks this does. I see a market for this, at least I won’t rule a set our for myself. The name, patent, all the drama ...who knows. Some guys see a dollar and they become ****s. I don’t feel that business is an excuse for moral vacancy.
The integrated sticks and packing function make me impressive. But still hope it to get down the price.
Hope i can still get parts for my old lone wolf stand. Wonder if the new style versa button will work on the old sticks?
If can hold out a year or two, you'll be able to find someone who jumps the gun and buys it, then realizes they dont hunt like they thought or something and get it 30% or so cheaper. How in find a lot of deals through Facebook and craigslist. Definitely awesome setup and would love to try it one day, just probably not soon due to the price tag. I do believe they will sell good though.
Yeah, looking in the mirror I'm honest enough with myself to realize that while 2019 dnoodles can still run and gun with the best of them; 2025 dnoodles probably can't. Or at least won't want to. Are those 5-6 seasons worth the $1000? 10 years ago "Hell yeah", but now? Probably more than a few hunters will be in the same boat before too long; looking to unload a set of these after a few seasons' usage. Don't think I'll be buying a set of these just to sell them to some kid at 1/3 the price in a few years. Sorry, Shane.
They are killing it again with innovation. Love it. Agree on the naming front, would have liked to see zero confusion. In fact, I see this as a boost to the current/original LW brand. LW could be given credit with innovation vs their hard work until consumers get clarity. Love it though!
DIY Hunter has a much more in-depth (and much longer) review/interview with the LWCG guys about this stand. You see a lot more of the features. Honestly a ton of thought and engineering went into this stand system; and it really is a system. Yes you could buy either the sticks or just the stand independently; but to max the benefits (especially considering the cost) they work best together.
