I have lots of other video and picks of nice bucks but I was wondering about this guy first because of the story behind him.I like to get a guess on age and size if possible from the pics. Ill tell the whole story after a few guesses.
No matter the story he’s both big enough and old enough for probably 99% of all the whitetail hunters in the world. I’d pull the trigger on him without hesitation.
I have been watching him since spring and thought since all the property around me there was no hunting he would eventually be mine. Weathers been bad here for hunting this season(I'm in Ohio) warm and wet.We have had a few colder days but not many mostly 45-55 degrees and raining ....Well Friday night I did get him As much as I would have loved to have successfully hunted him it was mother nature who was successful. I was fortunate enough to find him and get a tag from the state but to many days in the warm weather meant no one gets the meat. Although I still have some nice bucks I think he was the big boy.
I did try to score him today but I don't quite know what I'm doing. 125 doesn't seem right but maybe. I'll try to find something else online and try again.

Well I used that link and now seems high gross non typical 178 2/8 . I did not do any of the other types of scoring and there were 3 short 5/8 points that I did not add. I may try to do the other conversions later I wrote everything down.
Post up your score breakdown. Sticker points only count if they are at least one inch long and need to be longer than their max width. On a basic 8 point you will have these measurements. 2 main beam lengths 2 G1's 2 G2 s 2 G3's 4 mass measurements on each side. 4th measurement will come half way between G3 and tip of main beam. Insidespread. Do not add tip to tip or greatest spreads.

No hole that I could find. I figure he drowned his antlers were caught in the log jam pretty good. we've had a ton of rain and that creek that's usually 10 inches deep was up to probably 4 feet.
Maybe bedded close to the creek and a flash flood? I was perplexed by the images as well. Almost looks as if the back half of his body was never submerged, maybr bottom half of rear legs might be a water line but hard to tell with shadowing and angle.
Now that it's being discussed, I'm wondering if that buck didn't try to cross the stream while it was too high for him to maintain his footing, got carried downstream, and got locked in that tangle?
Hey everyone I apologize for the random responses its still waterfowl season here in Ohio and now that its getting cold I'm trying to make up for the lack luster season. To me it almost looks like he tried to jump the log in the high water got a little up-ended and just got his head stuck. That log has been there for a couple years now but I did not think the deer crossed there. The log is close to a road so its possible he was startled by a car and ran that way. I'm not sure of their range but I found him a couple miles from my trail camera. It is very possible that he washed there though because if you go upstream the creek is only 1/4 mile from my camera.
