What is YOUR favorite seed blend and why? Also has anyone planted sunn hemp (either for food for the deer or to improve your soil?) and how was it (did the deer like it? did it improve your soil?)

My favorite is a blend of every clover they sell at my local feed mill.

I have planted Sunn Hemp as part of a soil remediation/cattle graze, love it. I am planting it as a wildlife food plot this year, mixing it with iron clay peas and buckwheat. You will want to be able to mow it if it is not being grazed heavily, cutting it back to 18-24" will generate new growth at eye level and they will take care of the rest.

Where are you located? I plant in Oklahoma and will put wheat in a fall plot but Sunn Hemp is planted in late April early May.

Michigan, What i'll most likely do is plant the sunn hemp in april, then broadcast the wheat in in july and cut it right after i broad cast so the seed has cover and the sunn hemp is shorter

I love a mix of clovers and chicory. Mainly because once it set you don't have to open up the dirt again and you just maintain it. Also deer seem to love it and its always the first to green up and last to go dormant.

I did plant hemp in a mix but quite honestly dont know how well it was received. It got overtaken by the sorghum I mixed with it.
