Thoughts on the "Stealth Steps"??

I recently came across these as a more packable option than the climbing sticks? Have never seen or tried them, just wondering what your thoughts or feedback might be? www.stealthstep.com

 

Never heard of them but I got worn out just watching them being installed.

Not sure why you would want these. They look laborious and time consuming to put up and I can’t see a benefit in these against using climbing sticks?

 

3 of those would be nice to use for a saddle hunting platform...but I'd still want sticks to climb.

 

To me, they look like an accident waiting to happen.

Not taking into consideration the 10 straps you also require to secure them.

Maybe okay as a semi permanent solution to leave up for a season but I can’t see anyone wanting to set these up for a morning or evening hunt.

 

I think this would be awesome for securely attaching my snacks to the tree. No more cheese crackers precariously balancing on my knee - just pour some trail mix in one of these and you are set for hours

 

From what I have heard, they don't settle well on the tree. So I would guess it would be prone to kick out if not set properly. If you are interested in a step like this, check out Wild Edge steps, much better system.

The only use for them I see would be using one or two before you started attaching a climbing stick. It might give you five or six more feet of height.

Like Holt said Wild edge over those. I have a buddy who only carries 2 climbing sticks and 4 wild edge steps and he gets up as high as he needs. They cut down on some weight for a lighter mobile setup

 

Some companies are so dumb when they come up with a slogan Serious Gear Serious Hunters. Are you serious?

Thing is it probably took 6 meetings over 2 weeks for the marketing focus group to come up with that catchy slogan.

 

Sometimes I feel bad for people who invent products or start a business that you know is destined to fail. It's like nobody along the way wants to honestly tell them their product is bad and they should change it or just give up the dream. Everyone nods and smiles and says "Yeah! Great idea! I would TOTALLY use that!" Before you know it they've taken a second mortgage out on their home or robbed their retirement savings to source a product that ends up in a landfill 2 years later.

 

After watching the video it looks like something I would never use.

 

I'd prefer to hang 4 climbing sticks over 10 or more of these to get in the tree. The size is nice but I don't think that's any reason for people to get these over standard climbing sticks. Even on Amazon their 20 foot system costs $140 and you can get other sets of normal, non name brand, climbing sticks for well under half the cost. Even a 3 pack of Lone Wolf sticks costs $140 but I'd have way more confidence in the Lone Wolf sticks or any others for that matter.

And I'm still missing what's stealthy about these.
