Well 2nd gun season starts tomorrow. Going to try to get a few bully bucks taken out. I checked about 20 cameras today, and still didn’t get to 5 more I wanted to check. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The back 40 buck has been everywhere. I passed him 3 times from 11/10-11/20. If he makes it one more year he could be really special Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Back on the home farm, Johnny Cash has lived up to his name yet again. He has been everywhere. He broke a g2 off in early November. He is 5 years old and on the target list for late season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My new obsession is the superstar 2 year old on my home farm. I’m calling him 2020. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mr Clean has been an absolute ghost this year. But...he has just shown back up. Hopefully he stays for Late muzzleloader season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Also got pics of a 4 year old I haven’t seen since last year. He was a 7 point last year. This year he has a little crab claw. Would be a great buck to take out late season. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Then theres this ancient chunky 8 point. Crap genetics...needs kilt Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have never seen this buck before. Looks like a super 3 year old. Hopefully hos broken side keeps him safe for the rest of the year Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well this is interesting. I went back behind my house this afternoon for a quick hunt. I walked up on something totally unexpected right next to one of my clover plots... It’s one side to a great 2 year old I have tons of pictures of. Not ideal to find on your way to the stand. After I picked up the shed, I noticed the top of what looks like a blind a couple hundred yards away across the fresh cut corn field. I just cut the corn 2 days ago and it wasn’t there so I went to investigate. Sure enough, the kid who hunts the neighbors put up a blind right on the fence. Ohh well. It’s on his side so nothing I can do. Since Inwas already on the other end of the field I headed down the fenceline to go to another stand i have all the way in the back corner of the corn field. 80 yds from neighbors blind i get to a big fence jump and BOOM! There is the other side to the first shed! Not quite how i expected the hunt to turn out, but on the bright side my shed season is starting out well! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Last night I took my wife out for the last evening of gun season. She has only been able to hunt 2 evenings this entire season due to us having a new baby at home, so I really wanted to get her a chance at a deer. I took her to my best “doe hole”. 15 minutes before dark a group of about 15 does and fawns came out. She put a great shot on a huge doe at 50 yds. The deer all scattered and ran over the hill. No sooner did I reload the muzzleloader and the whole group ran back to us. I had a doe tag too and light was about gone, and the deer were on edge now. I picked out the biggest one in the group and shot her at 80 yds. Both deer were down within 40 yds. I’m super happy for my wife, having extremely limited time to hunt. I'd put a blind up on your side of the fence so yall could sit and talk and he couldn't shoot deer on your side of the fence
Welp...just got word that Mr Clean is dead. Got killed by a neighbor during shotgun season. My last picture of him was 12/6. Not the ending I wanted, but I know who the kid is who got him. I'm happy for him. He scores 181" gross, 176" net typical I will miss getting pictures of him and looking for his sheds. RIP Mr Clean.
Damn that’s a great buck, stinks he’s killed. Congrats to the hunter tho, hopefully the guy that shot it wasn’t a dirty rotten fence sitter
That’s a rough crowd, to each their own tho. It’s a surprise some of these deer even make it to 4+ with deer drives during gun season. I know multiple groups that do it in PA and it’s no mercy haha.
Yea it's a style of hunting I personally have never understood. The story of the hunt made me cringe a little. One guy apparently blew the deer's back legs of and it kept running, going past another guy who put two more slugs in him.
Yea that’s def brutal, surprised there wasn’t an argument on who got the deer. I know it’s gets crazy for bear season up north in Pa, heard some fist fight story’s.
Guy gave me permission to post pics. Still makes me a little nauseous to think about him being dead. Ohh well. Now to try to find a new deer to hunt. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
