I’m ready to go get out and fish. A lot of places in northern WI are fishable already. Here in the southern part of the state the waters are locked up or pretty close so it won’t be long.

I just got the garage reorganized and brought the ice fishing stuff up. I also just got a new to me auger. It’s a jiffy 44 Pro. It came with a 6 and 8 inch auger. I cant wait to get out there.

It’s already been a great year. Big group of guys went to Red Lake over thanksgiving weekend.

First time on the ice. 4 inches.

Red lake. Ton of walleye (lost count). Few perch. 2 Burbot.

8 guys... 4 days. Limits for everyone every day (4 fish each). We at them all except 1 bag for each guy to bring home.

Will be heading to Lake of The Woods December 26-29th. Will be heading over the Canadian border for my first time during the trip.

Likely chasing walleye this weekend on Mille Lacs.

Sweet! I’d like to try and meet up with you and Travis sometime this year to fish. I would either have to find a hotel or crash with one of you guys on the ice if you had room. I’m about 5.5 hrs from Mille lacs.

One of my best friends will have his sleeper shack on Mille Lacs at some point this year. We will figure something out! Would be awesome to get together.

I’ll keep this thread updated on ice conditions. The main lake isn’t even close to being safe.

Anyone have any good ice fishing series on YouTube or the web I can check out? I’ve basically transitioned from 100% hunting mode to 100% ice fishing mode at this point. Need something to scratch the itch.

Yeah it will be a couple weeks at least before I’m fishing. Next couple days in the mid 30s but after that it’s 20s during the day and teens at night.

I started playing the ice fishing app again lol If you haven’t seen uncut angling videos on YouTube you should check them out. He has some great ice fishing videos.

My cousin sold his red ice castle that i've had pictures of the last couple of years and bought a 21'+4' v RV edition. Going to take more ice to get out now but man that thing is awesome. I'll post pictures whenever I get the chance.

I likely won't be doing any ice fishing any time soon. Have a lot of busy weekends coming up and would like to get out pheasant hunting some more and possibly bow yet.

You are willing to drive 5.5 hours to fish Mille Lacs for 1 fish?

Looking at booking a trip to Lake of the Woods for the family and their spouses 6 of us. Not sure if we want a sleeper or a cabin on shore.

Yeah I would. It’s more about meeting guys and the experience of a new place. Plus just having a good time. Catching fish is a bonus.

Mille Lacs is one of the few lakes in the area where you have an actual good chance at catching a trophy fish. I fish because I love it... I could fish all day every day and release every fish I caught.

Will be on the road at 6am tomorrow morning for Mille Lacs. Not planning on getting much but who knows.

I haven’t tried for northern. A lot of my friends spear and have gotten some nice ones. There are some huge ones in this lake I know that!
