Thanks man! I had to use a crossbow this year, but it was still a thrill to get out and take one down. I should be fully recovered and back to the vertical bow for next year.

 

You had to do what you had to do. You deserved it after all that rehab.

I'm midway thru my hunting week and nothing worth mentioning out here but a cold front moved in last night so hopefully it picks up. On a side note got a package from Amazon with my hypo blades I ordered a 3pack and got a a 3 pack of 3packs so I'll be shooting these for a while

I went out last evening with the hope of tagging a doe. It was an amazing evening. I sat on a clover field in a blind and saw 18 to 20 different bucks. A couple that were pretty decent, but mostly little guys running around like idiots. They are so worked up right now that the does would not even come out into the open until after dark! lol. The rut is definitely in full swing here. I will head out again this afternoon and hope to see another good show like last night. These next few days will be what makes this sport so much fun. Good luck!

 

Had two opportunities at 2 1/2 year old bucks but decided to pass. The one yesterday morning was cruising and the one this am was trailing a doe.

Not seeing squat for mature bucks at daylight. Had A young 6 point 12 yards from stand last night and that is it.................strange rut this year !!!

Killed a doe this morning.....will post soon. Bucks still dodging my every move. 4 more days until the rifles start cracking here.
