Well if you put any stock at all in weather playing a factor in deer movement and killing bucks, the end of this week and into next week are going to be picture perfect. I plan on being in a stand all day on Thursday and if necessary all day Sat and Sun. We're going to have below average temperatures, high pressure, light to medium NW winds and mostly sunny conditions. Couple that with the fact that it's early November and look out. The woods should be on fire.*

*NOTE: Every time I say that I don't see any deer. So don't say I didn't warn you.

I will be in a stand starting from Wednesday until 11/21. About 1/3 of those days will be morning only hunts after night shifts, but I’m ready to get that 2nd buck tag punched and it’s looking perfect with the forecast.

Things were rocking this morning - I had two very nice bucks cruise by within bow range. The first was a borderline shooter. The second was a 5 or 6 year old deer with a funky rack. It was a great hunt.

Same here - but I'm definitely being picky with this 2nd tag. I have a legit 170-180" deer here on our local lease and at least 2 that will push 160" on my lease out West. I'd love to hold out for one of those deer. BUT if one of these other 4+ year olds comes with a lesser rack comes by and gives me a chip shot and I have all of my cameras on....well, I do like sleeping in on weekends. :)

Thursday is going to be a killing day. Mark it!

I know y'all up north have already had freezes but this Friday will be Oklahoma's first of the season. So looking forward to no more mosquitoes and gnats.. and the increased deer activity is just a bonus.

In Va the temps are doing the same thing. From Thursday through Sunday the temps and time of year are looking great for awesome movement.

Rain coming out way tomorrow pretty bad. I may only get a couple hours in the morning tomorrow. I'm hoping the rain will trigger them moving this evening even though it is 60 degrees.

Got almost an inch of snow on the ground this AM in NE Iowa but haven't seen any deer sby my stand yet this AM. Several fresh tracks in the snow from overnight. Makes me wonder if they did all their movement during the overnight snow?

Last 2 days they have been running around like crazy!

Sat all day yesterday and saw a lot of movement including 2 nice bucks. Both were chasing does hard and not interested in much else. I think I saw 12-15 deer in total and never went more than 2 hours without seeing deer the full day. They were definitely moving, I was just in the wrong tree.

Going to sit on a standing bean plot this afternoon and see if this little bit of snow puts any deer into feed mode.

Sat last night near a tillage radish/winter rye cover crop field of our neighbors. 25 degrees and snow and only saw 2 deer at last light.

Saw 6 or 7 deer tonight but none of them had an interest in feeding! Bucks were chasing does hard and not stopping for anything. Pretty cool to see lots of action but frustrating at the same time to have big deer close and not be able to shoot them.

I was probably 2 hrs south of northern Illinois and it was quite the opposite. Out of 3 of us hunting and seeing tons of deer only one buck was seen with a hot doe. He had his hands full fighting off about 4 other smaller bucks. All other deer seen were acting normal. You would have thought it was Oct. 1st

You were right about the deer on their feet JZ! Shot a 5.5 yr old 8 pointer at 6:15 Sunday morning following a doe at 40 yards
