We use this type of hook in the trade I'm in. We call them "break-away" hooks.

Anyone got an opinion on the field and stream 20 ft. climbing sticks? I have a second stand and for some reason not a second set of sticks. And these are pretty cheap so I was wondering if they were okay or what.
With a second set of sticks it would save me from having to take all of my sticks off of my other stand everytime I go.

Been trying to stay out or the woods until my vacation starts after get off work tomorrow but with the rain in forcast all weekend and getting off early today I'm in a tree now. Saw one on way in and she ran across the field and into draw my stand is in and while getting set up something started blowing. Wind isnt perfect for this stand but the way its set up they come from all directions and if they get to where I need them to be for a shot wind is blowing from them to me.

Anyway good luck to anybody else. Cls you had me worried for min, i took off the days on your recommendation and first thing was catching up on in here was you cancelling vacation ha. Hope works out for ya.

I’m glad I had made the decision to hunt prior to you posting this. Didn’t want to increase my dislike count for being soft lol. I’m up on public land between two ridges. Wind in my face.

That's what he said too, I have since upgraded to a black/gray umbrella. Much more fashionable. I only had that blue one in the truck at that time, didn't have an issue and had a few doe walk beneath me.

I think around 12 feet. For some reason only 1 box came today, I ordered 2 sets.

I can't remember what year it was. It's possible, been awhile though. Was sitting down in the bottom oak stand which I also used as a viewing stand when wondering if deer were active. Can see for about 200yds ahead and then the small pasture'ish around 3 stands and into the woods when leaves were down. Not often you get shot opportunities though. Killed my 2013 "whining gears" buck from it

Forgot to add the reminder, don't forget to connect your platform to the seat. Luckily I have squirrel ninja skills and was able to get down. And I was like 6 feet from the ground. Glad the old man stands have a wrap around piece to sit and gather thoughts when you're (me) stupid and don't think.

This happened to me once when I was checking a tree to see if it had a good line of sight, I was probably a little higher than 20 feet and the platform went all the way to the bottom. I was also not wearing a safety harness, I somehow managed to bear hug the tree and shimmy down while also bringing down the top portion of the climber...still cant believe I didnt end up much worse in that jam
