We have one with a beautiful 6 points on one side.....the other side is just a spike...no signs that we seen for injuries. His time may be coming.
I had always heard that about the injury thing and from what my eyes have seen I would tend to agree. It appears to affect the opposite side from the injury. I have saw a deer this year with a broken right front ankle, decent little deer with 3 points on the right side and just a spike on the left side. Would have been a nice little 6. I have also saw other deer like that but I don't know if there is scientific evidence supporting that claim.

Seems like a pattern this season for Many of us... I have several small/Young Bucks roaming my Lease this season and 1 (pictured below) with a weak right side.... I went yesterday morning till 10:30 after working midnight shift and I wasn’t on the stand 15mins and had him at 15yds.... I’m not taking him...as you can tell he’s not great by any stretch of the imagination on the left side...
