Well guys I'm interested in buying a piece of property that is over an hour away from my home. I would like to be able to build a small camp house around 1200 ft so that me and my family will not have to drive back-and-forth between hunts and have a place to go get in out of the weather. It would definitely come in handy during hunting season and during the off-season as I would be doing improvements on the property. I was thinking about building a metal building and then building my interior walls to create bedrooms and such. Any advice would be appreciated and oh yeah if you've done something like this before post pics thanks.
For your situation, I'd suggest a regular framed building. Building inside a metal frame can cause problems with moisture.
Hey man were in process of building barn house now. It's 32 x 42 with 16 x 25 loft. The Amish put up and framed interior walls for $32k. I know you don't need that big for camp. We're happy with it. Plan on moving in next month Roll Tide Roll
Josh that is exactly what we were looking at building. We have also kicked around the idea of building a loft but are leaning more towards just building an extra bedroom on the bottom level and making it a bunk room. Did you use 6x6 post on the corners and then frame interior walls are with 2x4's?
Have footers and stem walls instead of post in ground. The exterior walls are 2x6, it gets a lot colder up here. Roll Tide Roll
