Justin in the most recent episode you have the camera at the base of the tree while you set stand. Do you have a video of the techniques you use to get setup from the time you walk up to the tree until your ready?
No video yet, but it's on the agenda to film one. The darn bugs are so bad right now we can't really film anything useful, but we will before the end of the season. My process is relatively straightforward, and I typically don't worry about doing everything in a single trip. I set my first stick from the ground, sling the other 2-3 over my shoulders, then hang them as I go while using a lineman's belt the whole time. When I get to where I want to hang my stand I hoist it up using my bow rope that I tied to the stand and my harness before I went up. Hang the stand, set my LifeLine (if I'm leaving the stand) then climb down and grab my pack and hook my bow on the hoist. One more climb up and I'm good to go. If I wasn't filming and didn't have a 20 lb pack with all my camera gear in it I could do it all in a single trip. But again, I don't worry too much about that. Lots of guys out there trying to do this whole process as quickly as possible. I prefer to take my time, be safe and try not to get too sweated up. Leaving a little extra time certainly never hurts.
