    Usually when the mast crop is bad like this it can be attributed to a late frost in spring. Can’t remember if that happened or not. I know twenty miles south of me I’ve seen trees loaded. I’m in the northwest corner of Montgomery county

    Ok, back out for the third sit of the season in NC, was going to drive to SC but decided against it for this mornings hunt. Got the wind to my face and an arrow nocked let's make something happen. Good luck to everyone else who is able to make it out this weekend.

    No. In NJ you can legally bait. Since I am mostly meat hunting this trip I take advantage of the liberal laws here. That would be a corn/grain mix, apple crush and apples

    In my home state of VT, baiting is not allowed and you will never see that in my pics there. But food plots, naturalapple trees and obviously Beech Nuts are permitted, so you need to develop and maintain those natural food sources.

    I hunt both bait and natural and have pretty good success with both.
