That westville area consistently produces good deer. Good luck!
Its shaping up to be a huge mast crop I think. Both hard and soft. At least around cookson

Yeah I failed to mention my persimmons, they're loaded down! I am liking these cooler temps and abundant rains in August.

Hey my fellow Okies! Season is only a little over a couple of weeks away! And while we lost the property we hunted last year, we've set up shop on a couple of new pieces of land that we acquired and I'm getting pumped to get back in the tree stand/ground blind. Looks like the abundance of rain may work in your favor this season. Hopefully y'all are ready to get out there and get it done. Good luck to all y'all. Now let's get out there and get 'er done!!!

That's a heck of a buck! I haven't gotten any bucks on cam that are very big yet. Just a bunch of spikes and forks.

Went out to the hunting grounds Tuesday as that cold front blew in, it wasn't raining yet but it sure sounded like it was with all the acorns falling. I've never in my life seen the persimmon trees as loaded as they are this year. I guess I need to split a few seeds and see what kinda winter we are going to have.

Yeah he is a good one! I haven’t got any more pictures of him yet but I am hopeful he’ll come back.

That’s normally how my lease is... always young bucks until middle of October. That’s why I was surprised to see him back so early.

Good luck Monday if you get a chance to go!!!

Yeah acorns are dropping good here also!!! Our persimmons are loaded as well... spoons is what we have! I cannot wait until the next cold front we get. I’m going out Monday morning just to try and get a doe but after that, it’ll be the weekend before I get my next chance. Good luck to you this year bud!

I hear ya man! Tobe honest, it's been so warm - hot even - none of our hunting group has even been out yet this year. I can't remember the last time this has happened. A week into the season and none of us have been out. What's really going on????

Is anyone on the board yet? Any Okies put one in the dirt? The season has been open two weeks as of yesterday, and life has been so chaotic, we haven't had a chance to get out in the woods yet. It looks like we'll be headed out for an evening hunt today (finally)! Have a couple GOOD bucks on camera and a TON of does. Problem is, pretty much every doe we have seen on cam has a fawn with her still (of course), and I am not one to shoot a doe who still has a fawn. Neighboring land owner has said she's seen a handful of does without fawns (damn coyotes!) so if nothing else, we have a chance at least, at putting some meat in the freezer this evening. We shall see. I'm just ready to spend some time in the woods finally!!!
