So do you? I'm doing some research and curious how the typical bowhunter views face paint. Do you wear it every time out? Do you wear it in the heat of the early season? Or, do you just go without?

Around mid season when the weather starts to get cool. It's hot in Texas and mosquitos will bite right through face paint!

Sometimes for me. If the sun will be hitting me in the face and I don’t feel like wearing a face cover.

I just wear a mask. Real thin screen like material in early season, warmer one later in the season. Nothing against face paint but a mask is just easier for me.

Opening day tradition (or at least my first day of the season.) After that usually not. I wear a camo Buff. Helps keep the sun off in hot temps (50SPF) and it's very breathable. Isn't any hotter than bare faced. Plus it prevents windburn as well. Buff+beard keeps my face warm down into the 20s, also.

Yes. Some sort of carbon paint that comes in three colors. It comes off super easy with a wipe but won’t come off with sweat. I don’t like a face mask. Can never seem to get one that’s comfortable around my nose. I’ll wear a fleece neck warmer/mask come cold weather.

The carbon stuff in black or green sometimes. I wear eyeglasses so the face covers don't work real well. I have a ASAT hood but I can only wear it up to my mouth, putting anything over my nose causes fogged glasses.

I put paint on my face because that’s what the hunters on the TV and interweb do.

Not in Florida, with the heat and the amount you sweat it would be running down your chest and eventually you'd have a camo ball sack

    Agreed.

But I've never tried the face paint.

No need to put that stuff on my face. It won't help how I look at all.

Only early season when too hot for a face mask.

Never, I always keep bow in front of my face when any game are present, worked for me for 51 years, still does even with all the white whiskers

Not as much as I used to, but I do from time to time. Most of the early season I use a thin, stretchy material face mask. Once it gets colder I'll switch to a heavier fleece style mask and a knit hat.

Honestly I got sick of wiping face paint off after every hunt. It always seemed to get stuck in my beard, or I'd forget to take it off and go walk into the store to grab something on my way home and people look at me like I'm from another planet.

Early season: too hot and I sweat it off

Late season: cold so I want to wear a mask

All season: it's a PITA to clean off and smells

I haven't in many years (25?). When I did it was burnt cork in stripes. It didn't stink and came off easier than paint.
