Stupid does. About 15 minutes before last light a group of about 6 or 7 does walked by at 25 yards.

All would have been well, but the lead doe hit the field edge and when she got to where I walked in she put her nose to the ground and tracked me to my tree.

Before long I had the entire group under me. I came so close to shooting that old girl, but it was 7:30 and I really don't want to be up until 11:00 or midnight taking care of a doe.

Finally they busted out when the lead doe got to where I shot the coyote.

I climbed down and found my arrow. It was a perfect hit. Blood splattered all under the arrow.

I'll look for it tomorrow after the morning sit. I'm not going to stomp that little patch of woods up at night looking for a yote.

My middle son turned 7 today. He got his first real bow. Thanks to @WillO for setting up a great deal for me.

That bow looks as big as your son. Must be the camera angle. Happy birthday to him!

You mean WillO actually does something besides make jokes on the forum???

I knew it had to be pretty far north since there is no hint of velvet, but that's WAY up north!

And you call yourself a meat hunter. Ever had a 60/40 deer/yote grind?

Let me know how it tastes if so....
