What a beast! But I guess with a rack like that a mile and a half drag wouldn’t seem too bad. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That's no problem. I'd drag that buck 3 miles smiling the whole time. I dragged my buck last year 1 1/2 miles. 4 hours to get him out. and he scored like 55 5/8"
permithrin is supposed to be scent free; especially after washing. Plus, as I've said before- if they can smell permithrin; they can definitely smell you.
Little public land largemouth today. This fish made me look good in front of my son. We were leaving and I said ...man that is where a good fish would hang out. Cast..2 seconds later he hit. My son looked at me like I was a superstar. Thank you Mr Bass for making this older guy look good. Lol Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Me too. Where do you like to go? I live in Frederick County. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Going to sweat it out on WI public this weekend. If I can manage to have a deer of any age/sex within bow range I'm going to consider it a success.
Hunting public land up here in Massachusetts I always say it was a good hunt if I lay eyes on a deer. Unfortunately last season I only saw one deer lol and I hunted a good amount but I guess thats why its called hunting!
Swamp that is awesome brother! Lets do it again this year! Sent from my SM-N950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Same here. Load up on the Monkey Butt Powder to keep the swamp a$$ away. Good luck to you sir. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Regular old Gold Bond usually does the trick or me. Good luck to you as well! Maybe we'll see each other. I'll nod as I pass by your stand 20 minutes after shooting light on opening morning and set up 100 yards from you. That's what us IL guys do when we hunt Wisconsin.
I'll be hitting the public land in PA,NY. So we'll see what happens. Good luck to you all this season.
Good idea for a thread! I will be hunting some new public land this year I have only had time to scout it twice, but it looks promising! I am pretty excited to get out there and do some hunting. I have identified various stand spots in a couple different areas but one is far more promising then the others. But I have a feeling I am not the only one who knows this. This place keeps really good records of harvest and areas they were shot in. Piecing it altogether I realized mostly all the 2.5+ yo deer killed have something in common regarding the tract....Ag fields on the fringe. I have one or two spots in mind for opening day given the right wind, but its a stupid easy walk and super short as long as no one else hunts that spot I should have good deer sightings. I have more ideas for stand locations but its super thick and would be super intrusive this time of year so I am gonna see how it plays out and keep it on the back burner. I also have a kayak now and would most deff. implement that if I had the opportunity too. Either way I am excited to get out and hunt this property cause I know it has good bucks on it and I believe it will be my new " public spot" that I will get to learn like the back of my hand! Rumble over.
Looks like I will have to bust out the canoe for the first time in a long time. I like this stretch of the new public land I will be hunting. Get far far away from everyone else.
I feel like I’m finally closing the gap. I knew there were deer in here! Zoom in on the rack of this guy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
