I am looking for a new hunting pack. I currently have a badlands Superday that I will be selling. The pack is nice, but it’s a little to big for my loot and some of the compartments seem long and narrow. I primarily hunt southwest PA and also OH primarily from a tree stand. I just need to be able to lash some heavier layers to the outside of the pack. Give me some suggestions. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I like my horn hunter G3 tresstand pack for pockets and layout. It does have compression straps for cloths. I also have the Sitka tool bucket. Not as many storage spots but tons of compression straps for cloths. Both packs are great. There both pretty roomy for plenty of storage for all day sits.
Mystery ranch is what we get issued I’ve humped those ruck sacks up and down the mountainsides of Afghanistan they get it
I’m primarily a tree stand hunter too and find that a backpack really is too much for me sometimes. I really don’t carry much. So I’ve been running an rei trail 5 waistpack. It’s got more than enough space to hold a grunt call, lunch, extra release, hat, gloves, etc. what I love about it is it has compression straps on the outside to hold an extra layer or rain gear and daisy chains to attach small items. It can also hold two Nalgene bottles for all day sits. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Last year I used an eberlestock dagger and really liked it, its been converted to a summer scouting pack and I bought a badlands scout pack for this season. I dont carry much but a water bladder is a must for me. The remaining room covers all my basics. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
I like using a Primos Bowhunting vest it holds all my gadgets (range finder, saw, pruners, compass, small light bow hangers, extra para cord, and granola bar, water) if needed, I have been using a cheap pack for years, for just extra layers when needed, and that thermos of coffee. if no layers are needed I just use the bow vest or bungee an extra jacket to the stand.
Just curious, you use a 50+liter pack for treestand hunting? I don’t even carry a bag bigger than that for overnight backpacking trips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Haven't taken it to the treestand yet but I do carry a decent amount of camera equipment. It's not close to being full but it compresses down very well. Used the apollo last year and that was a little small but it carried the tree stand and sticks well.
