Just picked up a Canon G40 and wondering what shotgun Mic to run on it. I know a lot of guys on here have the same camera so wondering what you have and would recommend. Do all of the external Mic's need to have their own batteries or do any of them run power from the main camera?

    Appreciate the help!

Im running a Canon DM-100. It connects to the hotshoe and use the battery in the camera and has no external wires. Minimal weight and works really well. If you look around you can find them for a decent price too.

That one looks like a good option! Does it require its own battery or pull power from the camera?
