For several years, I have always shot the Cabela's Stalker Extreme arrows with decent results, but looking to upgrade. What do you all recommend? Carbon Express? Gold Tip? I don't want to spend a fortune, but on the other hand, I don't want to skimp on this important item. Thanks for any imput.
Yeah honestly, For the price I really think they’re quite hard to beat. I love Easton arrows. I’m shooting torches right now and they’re my personal favorite but of course have been discontinued. The hexx are basically the same with the exception of the x Nick and unibushing. So once I run out of torches I will be switching to hexx’s. FMJ’s are another popular one but personally I’m not a fan. They come out of round easier than a purely carbon arrow and are heavy which makes it harder to achieve a good front of center. Some guys swear by them, but not for me. The only complaint I had with the axis were the H.I.T inserts. “Hidden insert technology”. Basically means it’s a pain in the ass to put the insert in. Not bad, just different and I’m not in love with it. There are other great brands as well. I shot maxima reds and red sd’s and they weren’t terrible. IMO the Easton’s shoot way nicer for me. Victory makes good arrows for the price as well. I started out shooting stalker xtremes as well and in all honesty I think they suck. That’s just my experience, though I killed deer with them. If you are willing to spend a little extra dough for tighter tolerances and a real quality arrow I’d check out the Hexx’s. A pro shop can switch out the nocks and bushings to make them a black torch. You can stick 75 grain brass inserts in and have a phenomenal arrow. That’s my opinion, though there is a whole community on here with more extensive and through knowledge when it comes to many things, including arrow science. Good luck. Seriously I'm shooting victory Vforce. Can't complain, but as mentioned there are others on here with expansive knowledge on the subject. I don't have any other input on victory since I haven't killed anything with em other than a target. Side note I'm 4 deep in a six pack of lagunitas lil sumpin with nothing else to do. When I was shopping around for arrows I went to my local pro shop and got 3 arrows cut of a few different kinds. I think I did some Victory Vforce, 5mm FMJ, Piledriver, and Zombie Slayer. i have 3 different sets of arrows scheels branded goldtips that id only use for stuff im purposefully shooting into ground like small game hunting, rabbits etc I then have drum roll... easton axis 509gr that i like and will be my hunting arrow this year. then carbon express blu rz, 435gr they scoot pretty fast but compared to axis they feel thin walled. have taken 2 deer with blu rzs
Currently shooting a Triax @ 57lbs with the Black Eagle Zombie Slayers. 350/.001 and they seem to be getting the job done. Got a nice pass through on a doe last weekend using the Killzone Maxx. Although I'm not the best shot the groupings are pretty tight. Good luck!

Nothing, his son already paid for it. Back on topic, yes, the easton Axiss 5mm arrows are awesome. I shoot the 300gr/10.7gpi; heavy and slim. I was using some off-brand arrow that was cheaper and actually shot really well, but they discontinued them. I've tried the Pile Driver but did not like the thick shaft and found the Easton to be the perfect mix; weight/thickness/performance/price.
