Speaking of cameras, how many do each of you put out? I got 5 out now myself . 3 on piece of property and 2 of the other.

I’ve got 9 out now and 6 more to put on field edges once crops come off.

I have three large bucks on the cameras, a few does.
If i wasn't so stupid I'd post em.
    Give me time and will.
The good news is that all were in the afternoon after 1500 and none were nocturnal (yet).

I've got 15 cameras out...2 of those are about 20 feet high and on time laps to cover a LARGE area.

This is the one I really want, pic is from last year...I've still got a few more weeks...I definitely know where he's NOT, lol.

Nice! How many cams you have in this area?

Hopefully if this is the one it is set up in a place for predominant winds in your area. Looks pretty used so guessing he feels safe there quite often.

They pretty much guaranteed to still be in velvet during your hunting days?

It's hit or miss, they will start shedding velvet first-second week of September.

I've got five cams and will go in and move two of those tomorrow, tightening the noose, lol. This buck has only been using about 8-10 acres of his core for the last two months.

I usually get 2 or 3 stolen every year. It sucks, but to me, it's a price worth paying to study the deer. That's also why I run cheap cameras. I'm actually more concerned about what the thief sees on the card and loosing the data, :bigcry:...than loosing the camera itself.

I've figure out that most all the data I was collecting from Nov 1st to Dec 1st was completely useless...does cycling in and out, with an onslaught of hunters creates to much chaos and randomness in the woods. I've started pulling my cam's out during this time frame and my thieving has went way down.

It limits your cam's ability but greatly reduces thefts. Most people will never notice a camera that's above eye level because they're to busy looking out for snakes and spider webs, lol.

True in Wisconsin I’m not so much as worried about snakes I’ve only seen since I’ve started hunting the main thing that keeps me out is the deer flies
