    Sept 1st early doe season starts here in Va....general bowhunting Oct 6th. A doe is going to get it.

    Now that a lot of us have checked in, I think we should go over some unwritten rules regarding this thread for any new comers

    1. Shower pictures of your self are prohibited.

    2. Vital shots on deer are ideal, although we were proving last year that butt shots will work.

    3. No complaining. It does not get you anywhere. Unless you are CLS74 then it will get you a nice buck!

    4. If you post on this thread buck down or deer down, do not leave us hanging on a follow up reply or picture etc. Especially a week or so of no response. ( and we all know who you are)

    Any others I missing guys and gals? Please add to the list as needed.

    5. If you have good reception take us on the track with you or update frequently.

    I'll admit I have poor signal in a lot of spots so updating is cumbersome, had a few get upset with me in '16 with such a scenario. :lol:

    Newbs would have no clue who it was if you had not posted this. I was not only called out but specifically named :lol:

    I have a feeling this year won't have much whining, things are looking up. Taking my rutcation Nov. 2nd-11th and won't be dealing with a full moon, if temps cooperate I'm holding out for a good one.


    No promises on the whining though, I get deterred rather easily at times....

    I was out yesterday and worked to within 90 yards of a nice antelope buck when the wind shifted and one of the does busted me. If I would have had a decoy I think i would have had fresh meat in the freezer. In Montana when you apply for the archery only tag you get to start hunting on August 15. I saw some absolute monster muley bucks in velvet too, and one of those fellas was on public land. It was so awesome to be back out with the bow actually hunting something. Not sure I can get out this weekend as I am running a 3D shoot for my Rod and Gun Club.

    Thanks. Believe me I didn't want to but the deer make me do it! Out here they are used to it. I got a video of a beautiful buck on 7/19 walking through the property in the direct sun and the camera said it was 104. I will say that's a bit uncommon but sometimes they will. Wearing shorts makes it a little easier but flip flops make a little too much noise walking to the blind. :confused:
