I like Deer Thugs or maybe Buck Thugs for a team name.

Oh maybe “Compound Cartel”? Just a thought.

Whatever name we decide on is fine with me. I can throw another avatar together once we lock one down.

Side note... Taking of Tuesday and heading north for a visit with my daughter and sil. Will get the chance on Friday to chase some walleye on Green Bay.. Looking forward to a nice day on the water followed by a awesome fish dinner!

Good news gents. Just picked up a really bloody arrow! It’s a doe but hope to have the first points of the season shortly. Gonna give her about another 15 minutes and try and find the trail.

Nice! Congrats! I'm not sure the score thread is up yet but put em here till then. Oh and tell us the story when you get a chance. Way to get things rolling by giving her the ole stiff shaft!

Thanks guys. Not much of a story really. Sitting in the ground blind about 8am thinking the morning was pretty much over. Looked up and saw her walking between the 2 closest rows of mandarin trees. She stopped at the end and looked into the blind perfectly broadside. I know she could see me but no clue what I was. Just moved slow and drew back. Then she started licking right where I was aiming so had to give her a second which also calmed my nerves a bit. Let the arrow fly and whack. Found her piled up about 6 rows back.

It’s actually the first doe I’ve ever shot. CA literally issues about 10 doe tags a year for the entire state but the property owner obtained 5 deprivation tags due to them desimating his wine grapes last year. He lost 80% of his crop last year in 2 weeks before he harvested. Even though it’s not the normal harvest tag, 100% legal so she counts. And I’m just making sure everyone knows cause a doe killed out here is rare so an eyebrow might get raised if someone is familiar with our laws.

Thanks for sharing because we are forced to live vicariously through you at this time. Lol. I had no idea doe tags were so scarce there, but I'm not surprised I guess. Congrats again!

Don’t worry, I’ll be doing the same when you’re hunting in Nov and I’m sitting on my thumb!

Well when you put it that way...
Seriously tho, I haven't been on this forum long, but the live from the stand thread is awesome for virtually following people's hunts. It's my favorite.

Ya I like it too. I like seeing the pics of the hunters view. I just put up mine on the thread. I’m glad the blind looks dark in the picture. Can’t see all the cob webs! Haha!

This is what the window looked like 30 minutes before I got here this morning. [IMG] He’s an absolute stud! I’m almost 100% sure this is him from last year too.[IMG]
