Checking in from central Texas. I'm a pastor and don't have my own land, but I'm blessed to have a few members of my congregation who allow me to hunt on their ranches. The season here starts on September 29 this year and runs through the end of the year for bucks ... the middle of January for doe and spikes.
I'm in Kansas. Family has 20 acres of river bottom timber that's my main spot. Just picked up permission 40 acres closer to home so will be hunting it also this year.
Hey guys, I'm looking forward to being on the team with you this year. I'll be hunting in the Northeast here in CT, so unfortunately our caliber of deer isn't quite the same as some of you midwestern guys. I have quite a few properties I hunt, two private land spots of 140 and 185 acres, a handful of small private properties about 10 acres or so, and I plan on hunting public land more this year, as well. I haven't broken the 125" mark for a buck yet but I've been within an inch-inch and a half on two deer. In the past I've been good for 150-170 team points between two a buck and a doe, but last year I didn't get any archery deer. I don't really run cameras and I don't have food plots. Just about all of the hunting I do is in hardwoods timber. To make things hectic this year I ordered a new bow that should be here in a week and a half or so, so I'll be busy tuning and shooting lots of arrows in the next few weeks. I'm a firefighter by trade so I'm fortunate to have a lot of time to be in the woods. I look forward to learning about you guys and reading about your hunting locations, strategies, and sharing success.
Lived more than half my life in Connecticut and miss the countryside and the woods there badly ... don't miss the politics or the taxes at all! Lived in Shelton as a kid until I graduated HS, Stafford Springs for about 15 years post-college, then Andover for 7 years before leaving for the South 11 years ago. Family has deep roots in Putnam and East Hampton.

Evilstuff Checking in/ Name is Kyle, and I live and hunt in West Michigan. Family has a small lot of wooded land, surrounded by AG fields. We have a few good looking bucks on camera so far, but i'm hoping to check them soon. Have every Friday once season opens Oct 1st off. so should be putting in quite a few hours in the stand this fall.
Pulled cards yesterday on cameras on one of my properties. No bucks that I'd be interested in shooting yet ... but I've got a ton of doe. I should be good for 100 points fairly quickly and perhaps a few shooter bucks will roam through the area once we get to rut. Two other properties to take inventory on yet!
Alright, Hi guys. some of you probably know me from around here, but if not, my name is Shane. I live and hunt in northern Illinois. This year I will be hunting in both Illinois and Wisconsin. I have been good for 200 points the last 3 or 4 years, but that doesn't mean much, as it could all change easily. That said, I'm very optimistic about this year. Like said above we need to come up with a team name and captain, but that shouldn't be very hard. I can come up with my annual cheesy list of cool bowhunting names. In all honesty it doesn't really matter. I definitely am on a few good bucks so far this year so that is keeping me excited and anticipating the opener. If you newer guys have anything you want to know or ask, leave it in here and I'm sure most of us could be good help. I will PM those who have not checked in with a friendly reminder of the goings on, and if it goes on a ton longer, Ill talk to Brad or Justin about alternates. Lets kill team 3 this year!!

You get the total points your buck scores. I.e. a 143-6/8" buck will get as many points. Doe are worth 50 points.
No problem. Are you familiar with the scoring system? It's the Pope and Young formula. The buck you enter has to be the FIRST buck you harvest. Also, MAKE SURE you get two different photos of you, the deer, and your bow. A lot of teams have issues with that and miss out on points because they don't have the proper pictures, believe it or not. Everything is posted under the 2018 Contest Rules. These contests are fun because you get to share all your experiences with your team.
