Hoping to get out and shoot sometime this weekend. I changed inserts with my arrows and as a result messed up the spine. Need to paper tune again. Hope everyone has a good weekend!

Going to get out and scout once or twice the next few days. Hopefully back onto the larger piece of public land then the smaller piece. Temps are dropping a bit and it is expected to rain. Have no problem scouting in the rain. Now 90 degrees with 90 percent humidity and bugs like I did last week...um no.

These are two bucks I would love to get a crack at this year. The first one is younger and I had him at 25 yds last year but just didnt feel comfortable with the shot. The 2nd one looks more mature and has a great body size for the place I hunt. Ive only ever seen him on trail cams...over a mile away from each other.

Other half decided we were going to brush out a few new trails yesterday and mow the main trail one last timemuch to my dismay and protests...whatever was in there is no where near there now. At least theres just shy of a month before opener and most likely over a month before we actually sit!
Still had fresh tracks over where he had just mowed.

We had a few days of rain and i expected the puddle pond to have some water in it...no dice. Going to have to bring in the water trough i guess until i can dig it out and bury a liner or kiddie pool....

Camera pull while there was not too impressive this time around....time to let it alone and settle. Just have to try to keep other half out! LOL[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

No doubt. But he would be fantastic to shoot. Any buck older than 3.5 where I hunt is a real trophy.

In my book any deer you are happy with is a trophy horns or slick head! Had an older deer that showed up late last year, man i would have loved to see him in his prime![IMG]

Team names suggested so far include:

    Fatal Obsession

I can vote for whatever - I really don't care what our team name is.

As for team cpt. I don't care who takes that on either - I respectfully decline any votes cast my way. lol

We finally get a break in the hot temps this week in Indiana. Looks like high 70's all week - hope to get out to the property and hang my final 3 sets. Even though this will my 3rd season with this lease I still take stands down every year and inevitably tweak my set-up each season for various reasons. Last November after I was already tagged out they came in a logged this property. They defiantly tore some areas up and things will change - I'm guessing a little bit at how I think things might change. Keeping 2 of my sets the same - changed 4 of my sets.

Anyone have any experience with hunting properties the year after they have been logged? Thoughts? (might pose this question on the main forum too now that I'm thinking about it)

I gotta tell ya - I aint too worried about it either way. I've seen some people get pretty bent out of shape about the damage done by loggers and what they think it will do to the hunting. I'm pretty confident this property will produce regardless of what is done to it by forces beyond my control.
