To start things off I am from ND, enjoy bowhunting and long walks on the beach. gri22ly Smith0096 KentuckyBuck Merlinbyler Cls74 Triebs58 Taylor.S TKP030 Ranbo FearNoEvil Buckhunterben Brett Smith
I'm here, think this is my 3rd time being on a team 8. 3rd times the charm, team came in 2nd last year, so this year should be first. Have teamed with gri22ly in the past, if you have topo or general patterning type questions the man is an encyclopedia of knowledge. I hunt West central IL
I'm checking in. I hunt Alabama and thinking about trying Kentucky public land this year if I get the chance.
Checking in Wisconsin public and private hunter 2nd year in the contest 3rd year bowhunting hoping to get my first buck this year Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Checking in from Kentucky. Hopefully I can get on one I would like to shoot, but regardless, this should be a good year. The season opener is September 1st and I've got a week of vacation planned for the second week of September.
I'm glad the team threads are up...this gives me a spot for random off topic post...I need a spot like this, lol
I've still got a ways to go to get in the woods. Season doesn't open until Oct. 1st and barring a significant cold snap probably won't be sitting my first sit until close to Halloween. Try to give my work some hours in Oct. if they want to get ahead a bit because come November I generally work 11-13 days the entire month. I'll be taking my rutcation Nov. 2nd through the 11th this year. Generally I would be optimistic as all get out, but my uncle having passed this past June will have impacts on the property. He kept a lot of it mowed and knew how to keep deer moving through the property. Going to be a few new learning curves I'm sure but all stand sites should be good still. I still aim for the 200 point club, have only hit it once, but barely missed last year and was pretty close a couple of others. I'll be hunting with a heavy heart, but more determined than ever to hold out for the trophy of a lifetime.
I hit the 200 club last year. However i have a baby boy due in the middle of November. Hopefully i get it done early like last year and if not i have a ton of late season food.
I asked about it in the Teams list thread. Seems like we will be at a disadvantage this year. Unless we can get enough alts to sign up and very few no shows. Defending champs have 12 members and the rest have 11 and some even 10.
Plan on getting a final stand hung and do a final check of cameras on the 24th and then season opens Aug. 31st here!! Hopefully something nice has been showing up, my cameras have been a little slow this year.
Checking in from Springfield, Ne. Glad to be part of this & hope to contribute to Team #8. Checking the cameras tomorrow after work.
Been watching this little guy with the curly ears, lol. If you've ever had a distinguishable buck fawn in your area, then you know that bucks disperse in the fall of their second year as yearlings. Will be fun to see if I can find him next summer and how far he will disperse to.
checking in from northern indiana hunting some public and some private. First year in doing the contest. Leaving august 25th for south dakota antelope then back home for little less than month before opener.
Think I figured it out, still confused a bit but welcome to the team. Looks like you snuck past the post count as well. Hopefully enough alternates sign up to get all the teams 12 members. Be hard to beat team 3 handicapped.
I just sent a message to the 3 remaining members to check in. They should get an email alert as well.
What's up fellas! KentuckyBuck checking in here from well Kentucky. Getting pumped up as the season grows closer , SEPTEMBER 1st! Got the main stands and blinds done. New food plot put in , went with whitetail institute. Hopefully will give some food for the fellas. Got 2 bucks on my list that have been coming in pretty good. Hope to get on them during their Summer pattern. Just some info, I got into hunting especially bowhunting about 3 years ago hardcore when I killed my first buck with a bow. Hunted somewhat for about 2 years prior to that. The whole rush was pure awesomeness! Last year I missed the one buck i saw i wanted to try to harvest. I was blessed with a Kentucky Elk, so had that. I'm probably not got the history and background as some. But the passion is all there and I love connecting with others and learning anytime I can! Ready to bring home the championship this year! Let's get it!!!
