Was curious how many people setup a practice stand this time of year and what kind of practice courses you all do.[IMG]

No, I use a ghille suit. I do some still hunting, but mostly I find some good sign, find a bush and hop in with my ghille suit!

Practicing like you are is the best way to get ready!

I have been practicing like this lately basically just to get the correct form/ muscle memory down so it's less I have to concentrate on when the time comes. Very valuable practice for me at least.

I don't set up a stand to practice but I do practice while sitting down as I hunt in a blind as much or more than a stand.

I used to practice that way, I think practicing how you hunt is the the best practice you can do. It takes all the guess and presumption out of it. Nothing better than experience.
Now I usually will take a shot or two with a practice arrow I carry along with me from whatever stand I'm in. Usually when I'm about ready to quit for the day. I can always find a leaf or a hedge apple or something to target. It keeps me sharp and ready.

I climb up on the house or yard barn. All my tall trees are in the back portion of the yard that I lease out to the neighbor for pasture.

I would if I had a place to do it. I think it would be a huge benefit when practicing.

I practice off the back deck. With the slope of my yard, I can shoot out 25 yards from 18-22 feet up, depending on where I place my target. I also have a range set up on the side of my house that let's me shoot out to 40 yards if I stand in my neighbor's yard across the street.
