That is a burr oak, the ones at my place are not dropping yet neither are the reds. I have not pulled the chip in a week or so but the feed is back to being gone.
the reds are starting to drop alittle where I'm at. I plan on putting up cams next week, so I would like to see what its like in the thick stuff; white oaks are alittle harder to find here
Dear should be packing on pounds with that amount of acorns on the ground. Great for their overall health going into Winter Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Found this oak grove on the public land today. Hundreds of trees in a small area. I've never seen anything like it. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Looks like that might be a good killing spot! Adam Matthews Z7 Magnum 29/70 Gold Tip Hunter XT 100g Slick Trick Standard
We have a lot of oak trees on our lease. I’ve been hunting the place for 10yrs and haven’t had any luck hunting acorns. The deer just don’t seem to hit the acorns. There’s not a lot of food sources around us, it seems like the deer should be hitting them but I’ve never seen one eat them.
Haven't started dropping in Michigan yet, have them over my yard and can really hear them when they start dropping on the steel roofs.
Still dropping like crazy, I was outside all weekend working on the house and even when it was windless they were coming down, walking thru the yard crunching on acorns.
Checked my oaks out yesterday, they are freaking loaded. Pecans and persimmons have put on heavy as well.
