ive only been in 1 season (last) so it has to be when i posted my buck, at that point we were still in contention and felt good to contribute even though it wasnt a huge deer
Last year was my first year in the contest. Screwed up pics, didn't measure my buck until recently!! This season I know what i`m doing!!
Grommel, that was a great looking buck. Swampy, as for me, it was probably you killing that buck last year. I was stunned and it was awesome as heck.
Thanks! Yeah it was crazy how it all worked out! Also really looking forward to the support we all give each other on the “live from the stand” thread! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If I decide to get in this year. It will be my first time. What do you have to do to get in the contest?
Mine would be that magical morning in November back in 2016. All happened while posting in the live from the stand. It's also fun following along on the long blood trails a few guys had over the years. Sent from my SM-G900V using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I love the live from the stand thread. I remember you were about ready to cash it in last season before you got your buck. Was inspirational seeing the time and effort you put it.
Live from the stand has almost become my favorite part of the hunting season. It's better than watching a hunting show! Blessings..........Pastorjim
This thread makes me feel like I’m way behind as far as getting ready for the season lol, still looking forward to the contest as every year. I think this is year 4 for me. Always a great time.
You have to have at least 25 posts in the forum. It’s all for fun and bragging rights. It’s a great chance to get to know people on the forum, and your teammates. You should definitely sign up! Going off of last year’s rules and info thread, signups should start tomorrow!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looking forward to the contest.. maybe I can get more than a doe with my bow this year. Live from the stand is always loads of fun, looking forward to seeing everyone in there as well.
I did something similar a few years ago, when I had to count my roughly 110" buck as a doe because I didn't score it before it went to the taxi who never got back to me with it's score! It's the buck in my avatar. The team I was on last year did very well, we came in second place by not too much. I'm looking forward to this season's contest even though I can't even draw my bow yet. I had rotator surgery the end of March, but I'm almost (two more weeks) where I need to be to start shooting again. I'll be ready in time for the season! Yesterday I set my first trail cam which I'll just let sit for the next month or so.
I 2nd or 12th that following Swamp through the swamp was the best part of the contest last year; great thread. Hated hearing about the low point, but when you punched your tag, what a great day; until we wondered what we were supposed to do after that.
I am debating whether or not I will do the contest this year. It would be my fourth if I do. I lost access to the premium private ground I used to hunt, so I will be public land hunting this year. I am looking into getting leftover permits to limited access hunts on bow hunting only pieces of public. However, with baby and two other young boys in the house, I think my hunting time will be greatly reduced this year. I would hate to take a slot on a team that could be filled by someone with more time to commit.
