hey guys and girls just had 2 coverts reds from 2012 just die on me, guess i got my moneys worth since they are out 24/7, so need to buy 2 to replace.... reviews say to go with browning ??? need to keep cost around what covert red cost was, under 250.00 each... i just want great pics, do not care about video or time lapse, i set my cameras on take a pic every 10 seconds, i dont miss a thing...the cameras are all over feeding stations.... thanks for all you help and guidance, russ
The pictures on the Stealth ds4k are the best I have seen if you have it in picture mode only. In the pic/video mode the pictures are just frames from the videos and are not that great. I also love my Browning spec ops extreme for videos. For pictures the Browning elite series are really good. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Hard to beat the Browning Strike Force IMO. I'm anxious to see their new dual lense Strike Force XD that is out this year. To me, having one lense dedicated to night shots and one for daytime shots is a game changer. Blessings..........Pastorjim
I had two MP8 blackouts that were 2012 models and the little wire that connects the battery to the main box wore out. Contacted Covert to see if it could be repaired, they cannot but they sold me two new MP8's for $62.50 each after sending the old ones in.
I bought the dual lens XD from browning and the video was bad day and night. I sent it back to tcp. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
Was it the strike force xd? How were the stills? Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
You can get great picture quality for a lot less than $250. I was partial to those red40s myself. I was sad when my last one died. For standard size pics, the Radix PS-2 is $159 and image quality I will put up against anything out there in any price range. for $194 you can get the Radix gen-500, which is 16mp and a wide angle lens...even a bit more crisp than the PS-2. This a PS-2 pic This is a Gen-500 pic
Look for deals on amazon on NAME BRAND cameras. You can find some pretty good ones. I just bought a used flash array for my 2012 Red 40 because I didn’t want it to go on the shelf (flash finally died). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
well just for kicks i got on the covert web site and a little square popd up in the corner of my screen, ended up talkn to a guy named jacob and he offered me 30% off of a new black maverick 2018 in return of my, ( to me useless ), 2012 red40, so i took it, a new camera for about 115.00... will see how this works out and he agreed to do the same on return of my other red40, that is also worthless to me, shipd it back today from work so i will have to see the turn around time... sounds like a no brainer, but will have to see how this black maverick works 24/7 in the woods, thanks for all your help, russ
If you watch camo fire they run great specials on cameras frequently. You just have to watch daily. But at the prices they sell them for, it's well worth the wait. Blessings..........Pastorjim Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
The black Mavericks seem to take decent pictures and good video's. The issues came up with the sound on videos. They may have fixed that in the 2018 model. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
I’ve noticed lots of cameras have sound issues with video. Commonplace. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Maybe years ago but not many the last few years. I have Stealth, Reconyx, Spartan, moultrie, browning with no sound issues. The 2017 black Mavericks had bad sound. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
All my Brownings have sound issues. So do my USAs, and some of my Bushnells from time to time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's one of the reasons I got away from bushnell. Two years ago the browning spec ops had a whining noise on videos. 2017 spec ops are good. I have three. The dark ops had sound issues then also. They fixed that also. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
