Well I went out scouting today with my father on a piece of public land that will be the closest to my new job, around a 10 minute drive for after work. I was following a very well used deer trail trying to see if it was going to a food source or bedding area, I believe it was going from food to bedding. Anyway I was along the trail when I spotted this little guy Very cool to see I have never came across a fawn in the wild. I was able to get as close as I wanted to but I snapped this pic and got out of there but I figure that’s a good sign to put a camera up in the area! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That's awesome, I was just watching a doe and her fawn walk along a woodline today, I have never seen one so young before. always really neat!
I could be wrong but I’m assuming if a doe has her fawn in the area it must be a place they feel secure, I’m hoping to go back in a couple of weeks and do some more in depth scouting trying to find the bedding area Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
That's cool. Check this out, this was a year ago next weekend at the Rinehart R100 shoot. Only other times I have been that close to a deer, I was dragging it. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk
First one I saw was one my son found out by his fort in the pasture. He was out playing and came running up saying he saw a fawn he took me out to show me and we could not find it. I figured he was making it up and went back to my project. He came back and this time he marked the spot and there it was. Funny I asked him about this the other day and granted it was probably close to 20 years ago he does not remember it.
Very cool but very dangerous. I have known people who got within 10 ft. of the fawn and the mom attacked them. But those things are very cute. They walk down the street in our town all the time. Sent from my LG-M150 using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I was camping with my family a couple of weeks ago when a fawn about that size ran through our camping spot. Mama came by a few seconds later and went around the edge of the campsite. Very cool to see them that young.
