Bow strings fraying

    Just wondering if this needs to be replaced or is it normal?

    That's more than a fray - it's a broken strand. Definitely needs replacing.

    Ok thanks. Ive only had the bow about a year and have barely shot it!

    I would not shoot that bow till you get the string replaced.

    I’d change that tube sight for a normal peep too whilst your changing the string.

    Iv seen someone get smacked in the eye by one, they are an accident waiting to happen in my opinion.

    A tensioned piece of elastic perfectly parallel with your eye. No thanks

    Why not send bow out, you can find a builder that will also install the string. Take a look on AT

    That compound bow string needs replaced. It looks like the peep site wasn't installed correctly and caused the wear. It is wrapping around the string.

    Definitely replace strings and give peepless a try, one less thing to worry about.

    Willo, you are 100% correct. I had one on my first bow I ever owned. It broke and hit me in the nose. After I had to change me pants because I about **** myself. I had a hell of a cut on my nose, never again will I put those things on my bows or kids bows.
