Agree 1000%. I left the theater wondering if I was missing something and questioning how it could have been so bad. For awhile I thought I was the only person who didn't like it. Then the rest of the Internet chimed in.
I wouldn't say the new movie is complete trash, now the star wars christmas special, that's trash. Now that the trilogy has to be filled in they will never be able to satisfy everyone. The fact that a stormtrooper wielded a lightsaber and defended himself from Kylo freakin Ren is ridiculous.
Rogue One was the best of the new ones but even it isn't great IMO. The Last Jedi director purposely stuck a middle finger in the eyes of every Star Wars fan and thought it was funny. Solo looks terrible to me. The "new Han and new Lando" look, act and sound like cheap dollar store knock offs of the originals Ford and Williams. The rest of the movie may be fantastic but those two choices just kill it for me. The problem, it's been Disney'ized or Disney'fied....whichever you prefer.

It really would not have mattered who they put in those roles. No one can compete with these two, no one.
I kind of agree except the new Han is like 5'9" and Ford is 6'1". The new one looks so small compared to how he should look. Sorry but the precedent was already set long ago, if they couldn't find a way to match it then they should have left it alone.

I guess I just like seeing new talent in these prequels and not developed actors, hopefully he plays his role well. I wasn't sure about Adam Driver either but I think he has done alright as Kylo.
From what I've heard it's pretty boring and poorly paced. It probably suffers from the same problems all modern movies do...reliance on quality of videography and special effects and poorly written script and bad editing.
The anticipation for new Star Wars films is not like it use to be, hope they don't release 2 movies a year from here on out.
