Needing a few ideas of what I can plant for a food plot that's about 10-15 feet inside the woods. This being the spot I killed my buck in last year, the picture below is the area I'd like to put something. Budget friendly was thinking clover, but I don't know how it'd fair being in the woods. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks in advance. God bless elite shooter
Yeah I know. I was hoping someone here would have had some experience in this knda thing.these are what I'm looking at trying this year. This will be my first food plot ever. elite shooter
Im sure someone will have a suggestion. I can give you a tip though your going to have to fence it off or that will never have a chance to make it to bow season. Small plots like that will be completely eaten before it gets 1" out of the ground. Sent from my SM-N920P using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Clover will indeed be your best bet. Look at Antler Kings GameChanger. Its got a good blend of clovers that are pH and shade tolerate. The hard part will be keeping it clear of leaves come the fall. if you can figure that out the clover will hang around. Keep us posted on how you do.
Its ok for a test plot. This will only cover like 3,500 sq ft, thats roughly a space 70 ft x 50 ft. One acre is 43,560 sq ft so it will cover less than 1/10th of an acre. It's not intended to plant a whole plot per se if that makes sense.
Yeah that's almost what drew me towards it. The place I have to make this plot is small, really small I think possibly smaller than 70x50. As I said it's in the woods and I have a couple other locations, that a small plot may be possible elite shooter
