I noticed recently at cabelas they had broadheads for turkey, any opinion if these are a gimmic or not? Never hunted turkey before so sorry if this is a stupid question Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Assuming he meant the cabelas brand of broad head. They do make and market their own but I'd be skeptical of most companies that don't primarily focus on broad heads and broad heads only! I do like the head shot broad heads for turkeys, they work excellent and do not require follow up shots or any tracking. If I were you I'd purchase a Magnus Bullhead! They work great and the guarantee blades. Great company to work with too.
Yes turkey broadheads work. I've used them a couple times. I don't currently use them because i only hunt in Minnesota so it's just one bird. I'm not buying three broadheads for one bird so i just use my deer broadheads.
I’m also in MN, currently I’m just using rage hypodermic. Should I stick with them or is fixed blades better?
I don't shoot fixed anymore, especially with turkey you don't need a passthru. Rage heads have always been my choice for turkey and deer. Good blood trails, and they kill plain and simple!
I think that would be fine. If you setup decoys at 10-15 yards I’m sure it would do fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
that's very similar to what I wish they would do with the Muzzy HBX. I looooove the Muzzy but I do think it could be improved with a CoC tip.
